Well, my stupid pattern of "having a cold every other month" unfortunately continued this month. But at least I finally beat Minecraft for the first time!
And to think - I'd only been playing for nearly NINE YEARS at that point.
We begin on Thursday the 1st, when I FINALLY defeated the final (and first!) boss of Minecraft for the very first time ever (not counting cheating in the past or anything like that.)
Nevertheless, I didn't stick with that save file for very long afterwards, because I felt I'd cheated too much on that one (doing things like saving my horse when I accidentally rode it into a sea made of lava -- long story.) I will however say I didn't cheat at ALL while fighting the boss OR while getting all the materials TO fight the boss, so I still consider it a legitimate victory.
And then, the next day, I got a cold from somebody at work. How… "wonderful".
But it DID lead me to realise that my sixfold uptick in the number of colds has only been since I started working on the till in my volunteering, almost certainly because people bring their children in and the kids' immune systems aren't yet fully developed, so I end up catching their colds.
Not much I can do about that, though.
On Sunday the 4th, I - in an attempt to fix my atrocious sleep schedule - chose not to sleep at all on Saturday night.
It… didn't work.
Instead, across Wednesday the 7th and Thursday the 8th, I played Kirby and the Amazing Mirror on my Switch (which I'd been doing for a little while at that point) and completed it!
And then the very next day had a power cut - a PLANNED power cut that I knew nothing about until it happened. I can't sleep without my fans on, so it threw me off and I had a terrible day as a result. Yay?
Pikmin Bloom's latest Community Day was on Saturday the 10th and Sunday the 11th, so Maia and I went into town on Sunday - Mum joined us at first, but soon returned home because she'd already got the award for doing 10,000 steps - we got our awards and then headed home, because (if I remember right) it was starting to rain.
Over the rest of the month, I planned out a big house to make on Minecraft - I'm planning on starting something called a "forever world", which is (as the name suggests) a world you play in forever, so you can do all sorts of crazy things with it, like making ridiculously huge castles or whatever you want. All I need to remember to do is back it up from time to time so that I don't lose any of it to file corruption!
Also, on Friday the 23rd, there was an event on in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet, and I was even able to use a Pokémon I'd prepared for a previous event, making my life that much easier!
On Thursday the 29th (and again yesterday, on Friday the 30th!)I started a new Minecraft world, set in an endless shallow sea much like the one I made in February 2020, and I think I've done a good job so far!
Doctor Who series 15 spoilers
Uh. So. That. That was certainly an interesting series!
First off, let's go over the remaining NON-finale episodes:
E4 "Lucky Day" - it was sad to see Conrad toy with Ruby so much, but at least she got to tell him to 'go to hell'. He definitely deserved it.
E5 "The Story and the Engine" - it had a happy ending, which I like to see in stories! E6 "The Interstellar Song Contest" - I went in expecting a filler episode, I instead got Susan (the Doctor's granddaughter) and the fact that the myserious Mrs Flood turned out to be none other than the Rani!
Now then, for the finale…
It was odd to see everybody in a situation so radically different from normal in E7 "Wish World", though - like I'm sure any first episode of a two-part story would - it had to spend its time building up for the finale.
As for E8 "The Reality War", which aired earlier today…
Honestly, I found it confusing more than anything else - and while I did enjoy seeing Jodie Whittaker again, the Doctor rewriting reality such that Poppy was now Belinda's daughter and her daughter only… I don't know. It just didn't sit right with me. And nor did the fact that Ncuti Gatwa's Doctor is the only one NOT to have faced any of the Daleks, Cybermen, or Master.
But it was his decision to leave, and now we have Billie Piper as… well… SOMEBODY. They deliberately DIDN'T introdue her "as the Doctor", so there's SOMETHING fishy going on - but exactly WHAT doesn't look like it'll be revealed at any point in the next eighteen months.
Hey, funnily enough, that's the entire length of Ncuti's time as the main actor.
Ouch.
Well, that's all from me for this month.
And hey - at least I was TECHNICALLY able to get this out in May, huh?
Well, I'll be back in thirty days - but by then, I'll finally have* my open-world Mario Kart!
So bye until then!
*well, I HOPE I'll have it - we'll just have to wait and see
