• Needless apps!
• A (thankfully failed!) attempt at deleting my 10-year-old Animal Crossing: New Leaf town!
• Evil robot penguins from… a future!
Does that sound interesting? (If not, my blog's toast, but that's a problem for another day.)
Our (my?) story begins on the very first day of the month, when I finally managed to get my broken 3DS sent off to Nintendo, in the hope of getting it repaired.
It then abruptly stops on the 6th, when I received my cost estimation, which told me they wanted to replace it -- absolutely not! If I'd let them replace my 3DS, I would've lost all of my save data, including my town on Animal Crossing: New Leaf, which I've had for ten years now!

Also on the 6th, I was finally able to get my somewhat-broken insulin pen replaced!
The new one is "smart", so it can connect to an app -- my only question is why? Because, if I'm perfectly honest, the smartness is overkill.
That said, the "time since last injection" display is better -- instead of only having a resolution of 30 minutes (and maxing out at less than 8 hours) it now displays the time down to the second with a digital display (and presumably only maxes out at 100 hours!)
Plus, the battery in my old insulin pen died a few years ago anyway, so any display is good news in my book.

On the 9th, we went up again to see Grandma & Granddad; they're doing well, and I even managed to help Granddad with doing a DNA test!
On the 13th, Maia dragged me off to Reading again, where we went to IKEA as normal -- as well as Creams, which seems to be a new thing developing! Fortunately, it was much drier than when we went last month, too.
On the 7th, the last trailer for Pokémon Scarlet & Violet: The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero Part 2: The Indigo Disk[sic]!
That was followed by the DLC in question's release on the 14th, so I played… some of it -- to be perfectly honest, I didn't get much done that day because I got up late, but I managed to get it done over subsequent days!
The Indigo Disk (sic) spoilers
The leading fan theory - an attempted explanation at Kieran's complete 180 in behaviour - turned out to be false; everything he did was his own decision. That said, he still winds up making friends again with the player character at the end, just like I wanted, so I'm not complaining much.
On the 15th, I went to a Christmas dinner with others from where I volunteer!
I'll be the first to admit that I had some reservations about going, but in the end I did enjoy myself!
I also took photos of my food (primarily for our family group chat, but it also works well here) much to the amusement of the others:

On the 20th, they announced one last bit of Pokémon Scarlet & Violet DLC -- the epilogue, "Mochi Mayhem", which will release on the 11th of January!
As well as that, they held an event for Christmas, starring the Pokémon, Iron Bundle!
I managed to get one for myself, so that's me all pleased.

Christmas came and went like it always does -- we exchanged our gifts and had a nice, relaxed day all together as a family.
The Doctor Who special was good, too, but I can't help but laugh at how comedically contrived that "Merry Christmas, Davina McCall" line was. Still, good!
And there's today, too; we went out for breakfast this morning just like we did last December!
Anyway, that's all from me for this month -- so happy New Year, and I'll be back this time next month!
