October 2018: Ghosts, all month long

Hello, everyone! It's one year since I met Louise!
Except I don't really remember that because ONE YEAR AGO I WAS DYING! 👍🏻

...anyway, on a somewhat related note, HAPPY DEATH DAY! Well, un-death day. (Same difference, really.) You know, the day where children dress up in cheap shop-bought costumes and get free sweets! (It's a good thing as well that I grew out of it, considering I can't really do it anymore.)

(slightly_more_subtle_diabetes_references_that_still_annoy_Maia = 1)
(total_diabetes_references_that_all_annoy_Maia = 2)

I spoke about the history of Halloween back in 2015, so now I have nothing to talk about.
...there's always something to talk about.

...or complain about.

Like the film industry!
Really, though, the amount of crappy, low-budget Halloween films churned out every year in time for October is absurd.
Especially in America. It seems that America essentially worships Halloween for what it's become (courtesy, of course, of that very same country.)

On a completely unrelated note, we're back in GMT!
I haven't mentioned it before - as it's never really come up - but I hate daylight saving time. I simply see it as some ridiculous attempt by those against logic and reason to 'control' time.

Also, there are groups who believe we should switch to BST all year round.
What the hell would the point be of having the prime meridian of the Earth in Greenwich if Greenwich doesn't follow the time at the prime meridian?

(CONTINGENCY PLAN: move the prime meridian to America. Preferably to a state that doesn't observe DST. Because if we switch to year round DST - or worse, UTC+1 with DST on top - we don't deserve the prime meridian.)

But either way, I don't really have anything personal to talk about. This past month has been quite generic, as months go. The half-term holiday - last week - was all right, if a bit stressful from all the work I was trying to get done.

Also, I've enjoyed Series 11 of Doctor Who so far! I look forward to watching it every Sunday evening, and look forward to finding out what the episodes are about!

But apart from that, nothing much has really happened. So I think I'll leave it at that for today - and I'll be back with another blog post on Friday, the 30th of November!

Thanks to Wikipedia for the blink element!
...I will try not to use it next month, I promise.
