Hello! It's been thirty days since an update, so let me tell you how this month has gone!
I'm writing (some of) this on my new computer!
...is 16GB of RAM necessary? No.
...do I like it? Yes.
Like July's post, this one starts off on the last day of last month!
BECAUSE WHY NOT.
SO, Friday, 31 August. Me and Maia were going to go up to Reading (mainly for IKEA, to be fair) on the train... and then there was a strike.
I became extremely indecisive on the issue, as I didn't want to go on a rail-replacement bus, but I still wanted to actually go to Reading.
...then Maia realised she lost her railcard, and there was no way we were going then.
And then we did! Dad ended up taking us to IKEA (only IKEA, but I still go to eat lunch, so I wasn't concerned!) We then went around the shop, gathering various useful things (such as a backpack for me for college, or more plants for Maia to kill! 😉)
I also got (a couple of days later, from Amazon, not IKEA) an ethernet cable (in orange, because why not) to connect to my computer so that I could have faster internet! 😀
On Wednesday the 5th, me and Maia headed up to Guildford for the afternoon, having lunch at Mcdonald's (it was going to be Kokoro, but they don't have carbohydrate amounts of their meals listed and I wan't in the mood to guess.) After that, we went shopping. (As in, I was dragged around the shops, got a look in GAME and was promptly dragged around again.)
Not much happened for the next four days, but there was always the giant weight slowly boring down on my future...
...the tenth of September.
The day I started college.
I lost my wallet, for a start. The one with my house key, bus card and debit card in. So you can tell the day was off to a brilliant start.
Also, education lasted from 9 until 5. So that was really draining, too.
Tuesday and Wednesday were better; I had a two-hour break on Tuesday instead of a one-hour one, and if not for losing my wallet, would probably have gone into town to look around; Wednesday saw me having lunch earlier so I could be in Tutorial (catching up with my tutor) for 12.
And of course, there was Thursday! As of then - and thus it still applies now, because I'm not that bad with blog posts - I am seventeen years old!
I went into college late (lessons didn't start until 10:40!) I had double Physics, with lots of calculations - I love maths!
Lunch wasn't until 2:30, but everything picked up after that. I went back home to transfer files up to my new computer, and went for dinner at TGI Friday's at 6, with a giant 'birthday jelly' (a jelly in a cake-shaped mould) to round off a brilliant birthday!
And then there was a Nintendo Direct.
The original plan was for it to air on the 6th, but the earthquake in Japan's Hokkaido region caused it to be delayed, with it eventually being rescheduled to my birthday.
The Direct was fairly tame, with things like a new Luigi's Mansion game (big enough, I suppose!), a port of 2010's Kirby's Epic Yarn to the 3DS, the announcement of Isabelle from Animal Crossing as a playable character in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate...
...and then a new, mainline Animal Crossing game for the Switch.
Did I mention Maia was with me?
She - and me, too - was ecstatic! It'll be releasing next year, so that will definitely be something to look forward to!
The next day - Friday - was when Maia went back up to university in the Midlands, for year 2 of her midwife training. After she packed, we had a hug goodbye. She and Dad then went up to university in the car.
The next Tuesday, the 18th, I tried to log on to the college's Moodle (an online lesson and resource repository.) I had forgotten my password, so I had an email sent to try to recover it…
…it never arrived. I ended up going to the college library - with another student, who gave me emotional support because I am awful with that kind of thing - and got it reset. All was well in the end!
And then Maia came back.
…well, for five days, anyway. It was from Friday the 21st to Wednesday the 26th - we're all happy we got to see her again!
On Wednesday, I met my additional learning supporter, Valerie. (I have an EHCP - an education, health and care plan - because I'm autistic.) We agreed a time to meet up each week and catch up, then I returned to tutorial.
Also, I hadn't told my tutor that I'm diabetic.
...whoops.
I told my tutor, Emma, then at her request, I emailed her later that evening to remind her of my condition.
...and that's my month! It was a... monthy month? The monthiest month to ever month.
Yes. Precisely.
Well, I suppose it'll be Halloween on next posting - Wednesday, the 31st of October!
Also, Sunday is the start of the next series of Doctor Who!
THE MONTHIEST MONTH TO EVER MONTH
