Yes, everybody! Today is Easter Sunday! The day mostly consisting of chocolate eggs, chocolate animals, chocolate other shapes and chocolate bars! All in all, it adds up to a bit too much chocolate for me, but not for some others! ;)
History of Easter
So... how do I start? Easter... nobody quite knows where it got its name. Like Christmas, Easter has its roots in the Christian faith, where in the Bible, Easter Sunday is the day on which Jesus was resurrected. Being a roughly, what, one-and-a-half thousand year old tale doesn't really help with the gathering of facts like the origin of its name, but we do the best with what we have. Over time, customs and traditions have seeped into Easter as with Christmas, and once world travel became commonly available? It's kind of like the three most common kinds of chocolate - dark, milk and white - being melted into a pan and slowly being stirred. Quite quickly, they all mix into one kind of chocolate. In that particular analogy, the chocolates represent different 'kinds' of Easter, so to speak.
Easter today
And then a while ago, they mixed in a different substance, say, a blue kind of chocolate that doesn't mix with normal chocolate. This represents commercialism. It is continuously attempted to be mixed with the other chocolates, but cannot. However, whenever you spoon some chocolate out, there will always be some blue left in there. No matter how much the commercial side of Easter (chocolate, rabbits, etc.) is tried to be mixed with the Christian backbone of Easter, (Jesus, new life, etc.) it cannot be accomplished. That's how I see it, anyway.
This Easter with me
Today, I woke up fairly late, and when I went downstairs, I was treated to a very nice surprise! A basket, full of all kinds of sweets and chocolates I like, put together by none other than my mum! Maia had some nice surprises too. We haven't done all that much today because, sadly, my dad is working today. Even still, today's been really fun and quite tasty, too! I played on Animal Crossing for the 'Bunny Day' event (can't actually state the name of the holiday) wherein you look for different kinds of eggs hidden in rocks, underground, in trees and even in the water and sky!
So today has been a really fun day so far. Anyway, here's today's inspirational quote:
"It is best to learn wisdom by the experience of others."
-Latin proverb
So then, I'll see everybody on Friday for the Week Overview! Bye for now!
