...well, maybe not everything.
So, yes!
As the title of this post might suggest, thanks to a nice Christmas present from Maia, I've started keeping a daily diary!
...it really hurts my hands.
But that's not going to stop me! (read: "I'm stubborn")
Now then, I'm going to use this diary to better my blog posts, since with writing, I can get a better picture of what happened each day!
Don't worry, though; I'll skip over the most boring parts. (also the private ones, but shut up)
So, let's get started!
It's much like a full English, but it also includes white pudding (which is basically black pudding without the blood.)
I didn't do much for the next few days - mostly, I slept - but then rolled around Friday, the 6th, which saw me return to work -- and have to deal with clothes that, of course, smelt of mothballs.
It just reminded me of Christmas; me, Mum & Maia all got Christmas-themed pyjamas that we were going to all wear together, but mine smelt so strongly of mothballs that I ended up not wearing them, wearing my Christmas T-shirt instead.
As well as that, the night before, I'd binged all eight episodes of Sonic Prime on Netflix, because I was under the assumption it was a limited series.
It is not.
And it's got at least sixteen episodes left. đ
Over the next few days, I did various things, like:
- trying to switch production of my "Dreamemes" - memes based on my dreams - to my phone, which was very unsuccessful
- steaming the mothball-scented clothes from before at work (two things I hate rolled into one, yay!)
- realising the spider in the corner of my room to which I had formed an emotional attachment had randomly vanished
- finding out Doctor Who is bringing back Kate, which is nice because I like her and she's a reassuring constant in amongst the change
- burning a tissue with my lighter because I'm an idiot
Eventually, Wednesday the 11th rolled around, and any arguments in the evening notwithstanding, it was a good day!
Dad drove me & Maia up to IKEA in Reading, and we all had lunch together!
After all, who doesn't love copious amounts of scissors?
That Friday (the 13th, which I only just noticed now) I thought I heard something bump against the bathroom door when I was in my bath.
In spite of my fear that we'd been robbed, though, nothing had happened.
I mean, I'd rather that than an actual burglary.
...and then we have that Sunday and Monday.
On Sunday, I was just minding my own business at work, when a man came in and asked if we had a certain item, which I wasn't sure if we did.
So far, so good.
But then, after my manager came through and confirmed we didn't have it, the man decided he'd crack a joke -- and what better to joke about than my weight?
No.
It wasn't funny.
That said, my manager also told me he seemed to be drunk, which I suppose does mitigate it somewhat.
And it's something to be expected where I live, too.
And then on Monday, a different man stole something by hiding it down his jacket!
I work at a charity shop. It's not like things are expensive.
We also tried some vanilla puddings brought back from France for us by Christele, one of Mum's coworkers!
Though we ended up not liking them that much (apart from Maia, who loved hers) it was a really nice thing for Christele to go out of her way to do for us!
Not much happened over the next few days, until Sunday the 22nd, when I sat down with Mum & Maia to watch the newest episode of The Owl House!
I'm not going into any spoilery details here, but I really enjoyed it.
If you want to watch it, as long as you're not in Canada, most of Continental Europe (exceptions including Italy), or most of Asia (with exceptions including India, Pakistan, Nepal, South Korea & Japan), then you can use this link to watch it!
Between the 24th and 25th, I stayed up all night in an attempt to reset my sleep schedule.
It didn't work in the end.
But the next day - Thursday the 26th - we went to Windsor (or "Wondsor" if your fingers are fat, like mine) to visit Queen Elizabeth II's grave.
There's no photography allowed, which ended up bugging me when I wanted to translate some of the older memorials, which are written in Latin.
We also went around the State Apartments, and had a look at Queen Mary's Dolls' House as well.
The State Apartments were, funnily enough, much the same as when I last saw them about three-and-a-half years ago.
Either way, any source of stress notwithstanding, lunch that day was simply divine!
We went to the Café Rouge in Windsor for lunch, and I had a croque madame -- and it was just the best sandwich I'd ever eaten in my life!
I'd say it's probably the béchamel sauce on top that really elevated it, as it were, to its divine status.
If any of you reading this wind up going to a Café Rouge, I highly recommend the croque madame.
Not much happened after that for a few days, but the Café Rouge trip really inspired me to make my own croque madame, and earlier today I did exactly that!
...well, I say "I made it", but what I actually mean is "Maia made it while I helped out a little bit".
This sandwich ousted the Café Rouge one in the "best sandwich ever" spot.
Either way, that's all I've done this month, so I'll be back in four weeks with the February run-down!
See you then!
