January 2019: Oh look, there's a building in the way!

...maybe I am still annoyed over it.

BUT BEFORE THEN
We start on New Year's Day, because before we have my annoyance, we have Maia's!

...they didn't say "mind the gap" at the New Year's celebrations this year, and she was sad. 😢

And then a Saturday happened.

Pokémon GO Community Day | 12 January 2019
Totodile
Special move: Hydro Cannon [90 power]

Me and Mum went to Camberley on the bus, because why not?
We both managed to evolve our Totodiles in time to get Hydro Cannon, and now they're just... sitting there. They look nice, though, so I suppose that's a plus?

Then we go to the next Thursday, because nothing (other than college) happened in the intervening time!

College held a parents' evening, so Mum came to it, with me in tow. Dad would have come along as well, but he was working that day, so he couldn't make it.

But it went really well anyway! We saw three of my teachers - who teach physics, chemistry and biology, and each time there was loots of praise, so that went really well!

AND THEN MONDAY.
I had known about the lunar eclipse for about a year and a half (ever since that one that America wouldn't stop bragging about.) So I woke up at 5 in the morning to see the total eclipse.

First, I went into the garden. It was really cold, and a row of houses obscured the moon.

Then, I went out the front door. I could see the red glow of the moon...

BUT A SINGLE HOUSE IN THAT DIRECTION BLOCKED THE ACTUAL MOON.

THE MOON I HAD BEEN WAITING SINCE BEFORE I WAS DIAGNOSED DIABETIC TO SEE.

So I was fed up for the rest of the day... and I'm still fed up about it now.

At any rate, let's skip ahead AGAIN, because life (read: college) is boring, to the 26th.
BECAUSE GLASSES
...by which I mean I had my eyes tested at the opticians.

Also I have an astigmatism and have had it for at least six years.
But nobody told me.
Or anyone in my family at all, for that matter.

...so I'm going to get glasses tomorrow!

Also, the parts I skipped over... they're just me going to college. Nothing special.

With that in mind, I shall leave for now, so see you next month!

also I might have a degenerative eye condition requiring stronger and stronger glasses over time
so effing yay
