November 2025: Working Title

A post logo that reads 'November 2025: Working Title - So it turns out there are VERY BIG HURDLES when starting a new job (At least I know I'm not alone, I guess)
Welcome back to My Blog™, where I talk about My Life™!
This time around, there's… much less to talk about, because of the drastic increase in my working hours.
Also don't worry about the doom-and-gloom of the subtitle there, things aren't actually that bad…
…but I can't be bothered to come up with a new subtitle.

On Monday the 3rd, my new manager contacted me and asked if I wanted to work from 8am to 2pm on Tuesday instead of 6am to 12pm -- thereby eliminating my last potential forced 3.30am wake-up, which I was VERY eager to get rid of.
I also completed all of the required e-learning on that Friday, which was something else that it was nice to get rid of, because now work doesn't follow me home.
That Sunday, we had dinner from our local burger van to celebrate:

We also found out that the burger van was closing due to not having enough sales. That was sad, but at least we got one last meal out of it before it shut down. I guess we'll have to find a new local food place to eat at from time to time.

I volunteered on Monday the 10th just like I used to before starting my current job.
And then I got paid on Thursday the 13th – my first ever payday, actually. That was nice.
Most of the rest of the month was just spent working, though, so there isn't really much (that I can be bothered) to say about it.

Instead, I'll talk about Kirby Air Riders – the game that's ALSO the very first thing I bought with my very first paycheque!
The story mode's gameplay is nothing special, honestly – just a whole group of challenges one after the other that you need to beat – but the story ITSELF is interesting, especially with what it brings to the table regarding a character introduced nearly 30 years ago.
Soon after beating New Game+ (wherein you can start the story over again with everything you collected last time still there, and perhaps take a different route to the end) I was greeted with something shocking in City Trial, one of the game's three main modes… but seeing as I'm ALREADY late writing out this blog post, I'll have to grab the video off of my Switch later. In the meantime, if you really want to see the kind of thing I'm talking about, then this Youtube video has you covered, though do note it doesn't have any explanation of what's happening AND that it (obviously) contains major spoilers for Kirby Air Riders.

I did also go to Reading with Maia on Friday the 21st – naturally, we had lunch at IKEA:

Yeah don't ask about the pixellation, censoring Maia is just a running gag on this blog now (even though it's ending in a month)

And then, when I went to pay for our ice creams (well, my ice creams and Maia's vegan soft ices) THIS happened:

It's funny, because I work in a grocery store, and the problem here – a malfunctioning receipt printer – doesn't make the whole machine seize up like this one did. But Maia was able to flag somebody down, and they helped get everything back to normal, and we had our ice creams just like we wanted.

…I also tried to have something nice to eat at Marks & Spencer, but by then it was too late in the day for hot food so I just had a couple of croissants instead. At least they were nice.

Now, just as a reminder, this blog is ending after next month's post, because work is now taking up so much of my time that I didn't even get to finish this post before the deadline (hence why it's posted at 9.39pm!!)
Nevertheless, there's still one more post left, so I'll see everybody back here in the new year!
