February 2025: Video Venture

February 2025: Video Venture – I say "venture" like I actually risked something. I didn't. I just wanted something alliterative.
Yep, it's that time of the month again! And, hey – compared to last month, I've slept in, er… the exact same, it turns out. But at least I've been getting better over the last two weeks or so. It's a start, right?

Well, we start off on Saturday the 1st with something completely wonderful, by which I mean "I slipped down the stairs". And, hey – that messed up my left elbow so badly that it still hasn't 100% fully healed.
I know – just the sort of thing you want to open a blog post with, right?
Well, it gets better, because on Wednesday the 5th, my headphones broke and I had to get replacements. Or, rather, one of Mum or Maia bought it for me, because they have better/freer shipping than I do.
They also make use of it by ordering things off of Amazon ALL THE TIME, but let's not go there.

Next up, on Saturday the 8th, we continue the Bad News™ with the revelation that I had a cold.
Which means that, out of the last five months, I've had a cold every other month. Thanks, I hate it.
At least it didn't last too long in the end – just less than a week, actually – so I could get back to my normal life of sleeping in too late!
At least I seem to have changed THAT. Eventually, that is.

And then, on Tuesday the 11th, I thought my computer broke, but it thankfully hadn't – it was just being annoying.
Thursday the 13th saw me attend a job interview at a Boots not too far away, but I answered the questions really badly (in my opinion, at least) so I don't think they'll accept me as an employee. I applied for a job at an Aldi I didn't know existed until looking for more jobs that night, but they then wanted me to record a "video interview" – my response was "absolutely not" followed by withdrawing my application, because who the hell would do that for an entry-level position?!
Everybody agreed with me, too, so I definitely wasn't just being lazy.

And that FINALLY gets us to the end of the bad stuff this month, because the second half has been more-or-less plain sailing!
It started with Maia & I going for breakfast at Marks & Spencer (fancy, I know) just like last month, on Saturday the 15th – here's a photo:

Things then continued with Wednesday the 19th, where my "Problem Tooth™" got a filling at long, long last… no it hasn't had a hole in it for five years, whatever do you mean?
Seriously, though, it's so good now that I don't have to use toothpicks all the time!

On Sunday the 23rd, I took Maia's cartridge of MySims on the DS and used my DSi custom firmware (installation from April 2019 pictured below) to make a copy of it, so that we can both play it at the same time (and because I remembered it from when I was younger, and I wanted to play it again.)

I mean, at first I just grabbed the save file, but then I figured that I might as well grab the ROM itself because I had the ability to anyway. Technically, it isn't illegal as long as you don't share it online. Which I'm not doing. So there.
That, by the way, was the "video venture" the title refers to. Anticlimactic, I know, but I guess that's just the way the cookie crumbles. Or something.

A few days later – at about 2am on Wednesday the 26th, to be precise – I was suddenly gripped by a near-paralytic fear of losing all of my computer's data; long story short, there's a 2TB HDD on the way that should hopefully arrive tomorrow, and I'm going to do weekly backups of my entire computer onto it, just in case something happens.
Once I get my own job and the means to pay for it, I'm going to have the 2TB HDD put into my computer so that I can use it to store my Switch screenshots – which currently clock in at 601 GB (or 646.2 GB by Apple's definition) – and get a 4TB external HDD to back up onto instead.

Last, but most certainly not least, yesterday – Thursday the 27th – saw its regularly-scheduled yearly Pokémon Presents video!
They announced Pokémon Champions, a game centred around typical battling as seen in regular Pokémon games – I think a large part of its purpose is to be present at the world championships and such.
After that, we finally – after an entire year of waiting since its announcement last year – got gameplay footage for Pokémon Legends: Z-A! They've confirmed it'll release later this year – possibly after the Switch 2, because Pokémon games have a tendency to release on older hardware after the release of newer hardware – but there still isn't an actual release window specified, so until they do specify one I'll just assume they'll release it in November.

Anyway, that's all from me for this month! I can't believe that I managed to write out this entire blog post in only two hours – though I suppose it's my fault for completely forgetting about it until this morning.
Anyway, I'll be back at the end of next month, when it'll only be two days until the Nintendo Direct for the Switch 2!
And only ONE day until April Fool's… Watch out, Maia, for what I have planned with TMGC!
