December 2020: The End (again)

It's the end again, but DON'T WORRY I HAVE A PLAN

...was anybody actually worried? ...no?
Oh. Never mind, then. On with the show!

First, off, this happened on Animal Crossing on the 1st, of which I am very proud:

Next up we have Wednesday the 2nd, when I went for an appointment because I wanted to try out metformin again (I'd tried it before, but thought I had a side-effect and stopped after a single dose.)
I was told I needed to get a blood test to make sure everything in my body was okay before continuing with any prescriptions.
Then, at the reception, I was told that -as an anti-COVID precaution - I had to book my blood test instead. So, the next day, I did just that, booking one for Monday at 3.45 pm.
Watch that date. Because I damn well didn't.
Also, we had fish and chips for dinner on the 2nd and I had... a lot...
If this isn't the definition of 'a lot', then nothing is.

Anyway, Monday the 7th rolls around, and most things that can go wrong do, like not being able to find the blood form I needed to bring with me for my blood test.
I ended up getting a new one printed out for me, and sat down for my blood test... ten minutes late.

Also, did I mention I got the date wrong, and it was in fact the 14th, NOT the 7th, that my blood test was scheduled for?
I mean, that wasn't the most embarrassing thing I've done, but it was definitely embarrassing enough.

Plus, I caught my last bug in Animal Crossing, too! Here's it, on the 11th:

Apart from that, nothing much happened over the next week - though I did have two McDonald's breakfasts, so that was nice - and when the 14th finally rolled around, everything went so much better (starting with the fact that it was the right day!)

Meanwhile, my struggles of trying to get up at an appropriate time - which I've been struggling with for EIGHT MONTHS now - weren't going great.
The 'spoken alarm' I'd devised to try and get my brain to recognise speech wasn't working because, as it turned out, the problem was NOT me sleeping through the alarms, but me TURNING THEM OFF and going back to sleep.
So I've been trying to stop doing that now instead.

Anyway, Christmas showed up when it always does, so that was something nice!
Maia, so kindly, gave me a present addressed to 'Bugles', her occasional nickname for me.

Breakfast was smoked salmon and cream cheese bagels - something I hadn't tried before but enjoyed!

Breakfast was also - for me, at least - bacon, sausages, eggs and toast.
just imagine scrambled eggs off to the side

And, of course, earlier today, we had all of our New Year's celebrations - though ours played out on Animal Crossing instead of in real life!

Now that I've finished up my ramblings about the month, there's just one more thing I need to address -- what exactly it is that I want to do with this blog going forwards.
My plan can be described in a nutshell as 'turn the blog into an ACTUAL blog'.
This means generally only posting when something important happens (e.g. going on a holiday, video game reveals, and maybe also some news stories, to name a few scenarios.)
I don't want to abandon this blog or anything, so I'm keeping rules lax to let me post about something if I haven't posted in a while.
Also, you may have noticed I've changed the logo again. the reasons should be clear

But, with all of that out of the way...
