[01/01/17] New Year's Day!

Hello, everybody! Today is New Year's Day!
I think that speaks for itself - so let's begin this post!

New Year's Day. In short, it's an excuse for people not to go to work (well, most people…) It's also an excuse to stay up until midnight - which is why I posted my update now. (I think it fits with the mood of New Year's Day!)

In long, New Year's Day is a way to celebrate the passing of another year on our planet. Every 1st of January, we stay up and watch television - or go to wherever's being shown in person - and celebrate the beginning of a new year.

Right now (as of the time of upload), it's midnight here in England. I wonder what it's like for the people who just want to get to sleep! (I'm not one of those people - I'm up watching the celebrations now!)

Everyone's been saying that 2016 was horrible. Usually, I keep this blog positive, but… remember, a lot of the bad things from 2016 will come to fruition this year! But that doesn't mean that this year can't have good things in store.

After all, we have the Nintendo Switch releasing sometime in March - the power of a home console with the portability of a handheld! People keep mentioning that the battery life might be 'terrible' and so on… but at least it's going to be there - I see it as a kind of bonus!

Oh well. Sorry if this post ended up being a bit negative - it wasn't meant to be. After all, we have another trip round the ball of fire waiting before us - and the collective power to make it as brilliant as we can! So...
I'll see you next Sunday for the next Continents of Earth - covering the human homeland, Africa!
