Good afternoon, everybody! This is Current Stories, and I am your host, Lucas.
Let's begin!
Seed clue to how birds outlived dinosaurs
For our first story, we have this. It seems to show that birds survived the massive asteroid impact 65,000,000 years ago that killed the dinosaurs be eating seeds. It says that most birds today would not be around if not for some groups evolving the ability to crush seeds to get at the nutrients inside.
LHC can be 'biggest rain meter'
This is... strange, to say the least. Scientists are investigating small changes in the length of the Large Hadron Collider and think that rain and snow gravitationally pull the LHC. Plus, the LHC also spot earthquakes.
Chameleon's tongue gives up secrets
After more than twenty mathematical models, it is thought that our friends the scientists have finally discovered exactly how a chameleon's tongue works. It has also been confirmed that their tongues have special stretchy tissues inside them. In the middle, there's a bone. Then there's about fifteen layers of thin fibrous tissues and then there's the muscle. And that's why chameleons throw their tongues out at insects' heads.
So, here's the inspirational message for today:
"How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world."
-Anne Frank
See you on Friday, everyone! Bye!
